The
Neighborhood
University Heights is a core Sioux Falls neighborhood spanning north to south from 18th Street to 37th Street, and east to west from Minnesota Avenue to Lake Avenue.
This area is home to many long-established homes and two major higher education institutions: Augustana University and the University of Sioux Falls. The neighborhood also houses Sanford Health, one of two major hospital systems in the city, as well as dozens of local businesses.
Residents in University Heights also have easy access to several churches and two neighborhood parks – Menlo Park and Campus Park.

Our Purpose
The University Heights Neighborhood Association aims to preserve and amplify the beauty, history and camaraderie of our neighborhood. We’re here to build community, tap into the power of shared advocacy and work together toward a bright future for our neighborhood.
Building Community
It pays to know your neighbors, and this association is a great conduit for building community by making it easy to meet the people in your neighborhood. We’ll plan to host events and other opportunities for neighbors to connect.
Neighborhood Beautification
Nice neighborhoods don’t happen by accident. We want to work together on neighborhood improvements from garbage pickup to maximizing green space. Watch for more opportunities to help in these efforts.
Shared Advocacy
You’ve always had a voice within city government, but with the backing of an official neighborhood association, that voice has a little extra oomph behind it. We’re working to advocate for policies that help our neighbors and our neighborhood.
